Heads and Hands

Our homework for tuesday was to take characters from hamlet and do head variations.  I chose gertrude and the ghost.  Gertrude is an overall depressed character, while the ghost is eager for revenge.

Then we were to sketch from life and make a unique character head inspired by them.  I sort of "frankensteined" my characted and incorporated a couple life sketches.

And lastly, here are some hand studies from class. It was a lot of fun!

(This ended up being my favorite sketch).

More Sketches!

Here are some more sketches from yesterday!

After the Weeklies meeting, the collective held a sketching workshop. We each took turns posing for the group, and discussed ways to make the poses more dynamic in our sketches.  At the end of each month, a workshop will be held.  It was a lot of fun!

I also did some sketching during lunch earlier in the day:

Here are some gestures from pixelovely in class:
(30 seconds)

(2 minutes)

For homework, we had a basic sphere exercise:

I also did some sketching at Olive Garden over the weekend:

And lastly, my first character design of the semester!
I didn't want to use any characters I had recently been working on, but thought it'd be fun to come up with one that would exist in the same world as my bigfoot story I'm developing.
